Short Essay: Report on migraine headache

A migraine headache is one with which you feel pain only in one side of your head. This kind of headache often afflicts women from 20 to 50 years old. Once a migraine headache appears, the pain continues all day and sometimes it becomes difficult to continue working or doing housework due to this pain. Although I am a man, I suffer from migraine headaches about once a week. But if appropriate measures are taken, the pain can be eased. This paper reports on my experiences with migraine headaches, measures to ease the pain, and preventive measures.

The frequency of migraine headaches is different for each person. I have a predisposition to migraine headaches, and I have one about once a week. The cause of a migraine headache is the irritation of blood vessels in your head, but what induces this symptom is mainly stress. In my case, the headache often appears after a long meeting or when I lack sleep. Once it appears, the pain continues all day.
A headache medicine is effective for migraine headache. This is available at a drug store. To get enough effect, you need to take it as soon as possible after the headache appears. If the frequency of headache is more than twice a week or the symptoms don’t become better after taking medicine, you should see a doctor.
The cause of migraine headache is stress or a lack of sleep. An irregular life also induces headache even if you get enough sleep. Therefore, the most effective preventive measure for migraine headache is to keep regular hours and reduce stress. In my experience, these measures are really effective to reduce the frequency of headache.

The frequency of migraine headache differs for each person. It often becomes difficult for some people to live their daily lives due to these headaches. Using a headache medicine, keeping regular hours and reducing stress, however, can ease the pain of headache or prevent it. I recommend trying these measures if you suffer from migraine headaches.

Short Essey: Adults have a duty to teach children about death

The Associated Press reported that a boy in Idaho was found dead on December 8th, apparently as a result of playing “The Faint Game”. According to a police office’s report, a game called “The Faint Game” is in fashion among children, in which children grip each other by the throat and enjoy getting a kind of heavily drunk state. And it was found that this boy died while playing this game. This boy’s parents and his friends’ parents, however, have never heard about this game.
We may say that this news is an example that children are ignorant about death. Adults should keep in mind that children don’t know about death from birth and adults have a duty to teach them about it.

Adults have experienced various things in their childhood and many things which they didn’t know when they were kids become usual things to them. Especially, they may unconsciously avoid dangerous acts which may result in their death, such as crossing the street without looking, taking too many pills, and so on. But if no one has taught them in their childhood that these acts are dangerous and should be avoided, would they understand these acts might cause death?
Children don’t know what death is by nature. And they don’t know at all that the acts cited above have a possibility to cause their death. “The Faint Game” is a typical example. Adults know naturally that this game is dangerous and therefore don’t realize they have to teach children about this. But this is obviously a mistake. Adults have to know that children really don’t know about death and the acts causing death and have a duty to teach children about them.

Children are ignorant from birth. Therefore, adults need to teach them about various things. Especially, the things involved in death are the most important and adults have a duty to teach children about death and the acts causing death.

Short Essey: Nuclear power generation as a solution of an energy problem

Currently, there is a global energy problem. Energy is necessary for a present-day life and usually we use electric energy. On the other hand, energy is not limitless. As is often pointed out, fossil fuel reserves have a limit; oil will be depleted in 40 years, natural gas in 65 years, and so on. In other words, we will run out of energy if we continue to use these fossil fuels in the future. This is called the energy problem and an alternative is needed.
One solution is nuclear power generation. Although there are some problems with nuclear power, it has many advantages which fossil fuels don’t have and is needed to solve the energy problem.

Nuclear power generation is a way to get electricity by uranium fission. This way has two main advantages over fossil fuels. First, the used uranium can be reused. Although it is said that uranium will be depleted in 85 years, the used uranium can be reused and thus the life of uranium can be extended from several times to several dozen times. Second, this is a clean alternative as it doesn’t emit any carbon dioxide, which is the cause of green house effect.
On the other hand, nuclear power generation produces radioactive waste as its by-product. This is a dangerous material for human beings because it emits radioactivity which has a bad effect on the human body. There is no way to change this to a safe material at present. All we can do is bury it deep in ground. Internationally, this disposal way is regarded as the best way to deal with it. This fact should be kept in mind as an ethical problem.

The energy problem is a global issue and should be solved now. One solution is nuclear power generation. Although this has an ethical problem about the disposal of its radioactive waste, it has many advantages and is needed to solve the energy problem.

Short Essay: Internet is needed for children

In general, compared to adults, children have many things which they don’t know. To know about them, children will ask adults and the adults will answer the questions. But sometimes adults don’t have all the answers. In this case, how can children get the information which they want to know?
The Internet is a powerful tool for children to get the information which they want to know. We can get abundant information just by typing keywords. Although there are various problems about children’s use of the Internet (such as becoming victims of crimes), it is needed to foster children’s curiosity.

The Internet search functions are excellent. When we want to know about something, we can find useful sites just by typing a part of keywords if we don’t have enough information about it. Thus, the Internet gives us any information and this includes many things we cannot get just by asking adults.
As children have many things which they don’t know compared to adults, we may say that they have stronger curiosity than adults. To foster their curiosity, an environment is needed in which they can quickly get the information they want to know whenever they want to know about it. One of the ways to do this is to have children use the Internet.
On the other hand, the number of crimes using the Internet is increasing recently. Although we can get useful information on the Internet easily, there is much information which has a bad influence upon children. But it is a big mistake to make children stop using the Internet to protect them from these crimes. The Internet is a powerful tool to foster children’s curiosity. After recognizing this fact, adults should make an effort to protect children from crimes.

The Internet is one of many powerful tools for children to get the information. Although there are various problems about the children’s use of the Internet, it is needed to foster children’s curiosity.
